New recordings

I'm working on new recordings!

I have roped in a couple of quality control assistants who will be checking my work during the various stages. It looks like it is going to be around 8 tracks, so it's like an extended E.P.

The Guitar tracks are done, I will spend the next couple of weeks doing the vocals and then the QC assistants will begin their work. Once that is approved, I move to the mixing process and then another round of QC, then mastering.

It's just guitar and vocals. I spent a couple of days programming drum tracks to my songs, and it worked quite well, but it didn't feel right.  So I'm getting the basics tight and solid and take it from there.

In terms of voice; I've been working on developing my ear and hearing the difference between a note and being able to hear within 1 cent of that. It's quite a liberating experience as once you open your ear and really fine tune it, you can hear all of this subtlety. It's quite amazing, I'm dumbfounded as to why they didn't teach me this shit in school, but that's the way it goes. We learn and progress.

Love and light.

Hey,

Well I recently posted a load of songs on YouTube and not much had happened. So, that's a bit shit really. I thought that it may be that the songs/performance were a bit shite, but I don't think that's the case.

My counsellor asked me the other day whether or not I enjoy playing my music, and I spent a long time thinking about it, and actually I don't enjoy playing the real dark stuff. That's more like an expression and release. So, I've been playing and composing songs with a completely different purpose and that is to make me and people happy. I did a really fun gig last week in France in front of a fresh crowd and we all had a lovely time.

It's only taken me 36 years to get there.

Love,

Hi world!

Hi, I'm Jagtar.

As you probably know, I'm a singer/songwriter from London and I play drone-based music on a modified guitar.

A bit about me: I'm in my mid-thirties, I have a day job as an English language teacher at a homeless charity and also another charity that helps and supports victims of torture from the Sri Lankan genocide.

I have learnt guitar for years and went to a variety of schools. I did the singer/songwriter thing for a good few years and then I just stopped.

After about a five-year break, I suddenly started playing and composing again but this time I've taken the time to seriously work on my voice. 6 months later and I have reached a life goal of being able (to  a certain extent) to perform and record live takes effectively.

And this is where I am now.

I'm on Youtube, Twitter and Facebook under Jagtarmusic.

Thanks for reading.
